  • A plant that produces fiery red tubular flowers along 2-4 spikes.

  • The blossoms are delicate and open from the bottom of the spikes to the top from mid- summer to the fall.

  • Green rosettes form over the winter so, it is important not to mulch deeply as they need some sunlight to survive. A more natural light leaf litter cover is desirable.

  • Not a lot, but continuous moisture is required over all seasons.

  • Considered to be a short lived perennial, 7-10 years, plant a new one every 4th year for continuous flowering.
